Leonard J. Chicarello, 79

Leonard J. Chicarello, 79, of Groveland passed away on May 6, 2026 at Lawrence General Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Leonard was born in Cambridge on July 4, 1947 to Eugene and Mary (Rosa) Chicarello and was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1965, after which he served in the US Army in Vietnam. He then worked for 30+ years at Polaroid Corporation to retire and spend the next 20+ years as his beloved wife’s full time caretaker. During retirement heenjoyed cooking, cheering onhis Boston sports teams and spending time with his 3 beloved grandchildrenwho were his world.Whether it was attending Scott Jrs. football games, or taking great pride in his academic achievements, making up silly games with Grayson just so they could share a good laugh every time they were together or being with Gemma playing pretend Dr. with him and grandma or hide and seek around the house. He cherished the time he shared with each of his grandchildren and loved creating special memories with each one.

Leonard is survived by his wife Aurelia (Silva) Chicarello of Groveland, his sons Scott and wife Lindsey Chicarello of Groveland, Stephen and wife Michaela Chicarello of Saugus, and Sean and wife Virginia Chicarello of Haverhill. He also leaves behind his brother Robert and wife Susan Chicarello and their daughter Heather Coolbeth of Ocala, Fl and his 3 wonderful grandchildren Scott, Grayson and Gemma. He was predeceased by his niece Nicole Chicarello.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, May 17th from 2PM until 5PM, followed by a funeral home chapel service at 5PM at the Kevin B, Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
