William P. “Bill” Johns, III, 70, of Haverhill, passed away on May 13, 2026 at the High Pointe Hospice House.
Bill was born in Haverhill on February 4, 1956, the son of William P. and Helen M. (Khoury) Johns, Jr. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1974, after which he worked for 45 years as a Mill Wright for Raytheon. Bill, sometimes known as “BigBoy” or Billbert”, was a sun worshiper, liked spending time fishing, grilling at home, and hanging out in the yard and at the beach. He enjoyed the ponies – going to Saratoga, Rockingham Park and Suffolk Downs. Bill loved spending time with family and especially his granddaughter Kenzie.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle. He is survived by his daughter Heather M. Powers and her husband Michael of Haverhill, and his brothers Barry J. Johns and his wife Judy of Haverhill, and Marc G. Johns and his wife Denise of Washington, MA. He also leaves behind his granddaughter Kenzie and niece Helayna. Bill was predeceased by his wife Frances L. (Pierce) Johns.

I’m so sorry to hear of Billy’s passing. Barry Marc Heather and family you’re in my prayers. I often think of growing up on Dartmouth Street. In later years I worked with him at Raytheon. May he rest in eternal peace.
