Janis B. Hinderer, 78, of Atkinson, NH passed away peacefully at her home on May 28, 2026.
Janis was born on April 23, 1948 in Haverhill, the daughter of Antonio and Concetta (LoConte) Martino. She was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1966 and went on to work for many years as a telephone operator at New England Telephone. Janis was an avid reader; she enjoyed spending time crafting, making greeting cards, shopping, traveling, and vacationing in Florida. She especially loved spending time with her family and was very close to her cousins, nieces and nephews, all her loving friends from the old neighborhood and the telephone company, and also the community at Settlers Ridge in Atkinson. In her own words Janice wrote: “I was born into a wonderful family full of love. I want everyone to remember how much I loved them.” And “I want to thank Darlene Accardi, Diane “DeeDee” Barrett for being there when I needed you.”

Janis is survived by her Aunt Rita Angelotti of California, and her sisters Darlene and David Accardi of Haverhill, Doreen and Thomas Tufts of Danville, NH, Diane “DeeDee” and Ronald Barrett of Newbury, Linda and Ignazio Palermo of Raymond, NH, and Diane Green of Londonderry, NH. She also leaves behind her brother Emile and Ellen Forcier of Homosassa, FL; as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, the LoConte and Martino cousins, and several loving In-laws. She was a devoted wife and was predeceased by her husband Thomas Hinderer in 2015; her stepmother Marcelle Martino, and her best friend and sister Dorothea (LoConte) Driscoll.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 6th at 11AM at All Saints Parish, Haverhill. Burial at a later date.
