Haverhill – Linda D. (Hanbury) Croteau, 64, Widow of James A. Croteau who died in 2009, formerly of Haverhill and Needham, passed away unexpectedly at her residence.
Linda was born in Boston, the daughter of the late, Paul J. and Gail F. (Lynch) Hanbury. Raised in Needham, she was a Graduate of Needham High School, Class of 1979. Continuing her education, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree from University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Linda was employed as a social worker/councilor for the State of MA prior to her marriage to James and moved on to raise her family. She loved ice skating, skiing, listening to music and dancing. She had a great sense of humor and infectious laugh.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she leaves her two daughters; Mariah L. Croteau and partner Ivan Galarza, of Amesbury and Janine Croteau and partner Tyler Johnson, of Newburyport, three grandchildren; Joli Croteau, James Galarza, and Malakai Galarza, a brother; Paul J. Hanbury, of Framingham, two sisters, Lisa Landon, of Natick and Kristin Todd and her husband Joseph, of Foxborough, and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours on Tuesday, June 23 from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home 486 Main St. Haverhill. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, St. Gabriel Parish, 110 Lincoln Ave. Haverhill. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
