Haverhill – Roberto Melendez, 66, passed away at his home January 1, 2020.
Born in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Fransisco Cruz and Teresa Melendez. Raised and educated in Bronx, NY, he worked as a Taxi driver for many years in New York before moving to Haverhill. He also worked in construction as an asbestos abatement worker. Roberto enjoyed singing and playing the guitar, playing dominos and was known for his good cooking. He traveled to Pennsylvania, New York and Puerto Rico to visit family and friends. Known for his great sense of humor, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Roberto is survived by his sons, Roberto Cruz Jr. of Puerto Rico; Ismael Cruz of Bronx, NY; Luis Omar Cruz of Reading, PA; his brother, James Melendez of Haverhill; his sisters, Angelina Marquez of Philadelphia, PA; Sandra Cruz of Hoboken, NJ; Marta Carpo of York, PA; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Fransisco Cruz Jr.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, January 11th from 1:00PM until 3:30PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
