Tuesday I lost a close friend, big brother and an old salt (Red).? A tragic loss for his family, close friends and all who knew him. For me it was 47 years ago this past April that Red who already had a family which included two of his own boys, Harry and Jeff, took on a troubled neighborhood kid lacking a father figure who walked up his driveway one day while he was restoring an old 39′ Aeronca airplane in his garage. He took on this kid in turmoil who needed a little guidance and life application education, and he and Judy made me part of his family and made a big difference at the right time in an anxious red headed kids life and help put him on track, for which I will always cherish and will hold his memory close! For a time I had lost touch but years ago was able to reconnect and was able to make the trek back to Haverhill a few times and with part of my family. Red & Sharon were the best, took us all over New England and treated us to a perfect vacation and our youngest Kaylee made a new friend with Red’s rescued Squirrel Milo and shared enough history to clinche an A on her American history exam! Also took us on the excursion of a lifetime with a friend in a beautiful open cockpit Stearling touring bi-plane, great memories. We shared his love of aircraft from an early age an I have carried that with me throughout my life! Red, it is evident that hundreds of people have been part of your life and that family and friends will gather in your honor! So sorry and truly saddened we will not be able to the trip back but we will be there in heart and spirit! In loving memory of Red, Henry P. Fairbrother. And to Sharon and the entire Fairbrother klan, our have our sincerest and heart felt sympathy and prayers! ? love Ed & Linda, Kaylee & family

So sad to hear of this. He will truly be missed. If we a dollar for every joke he told we would be wealthy.
