Arlington – Ronald R. Rand, 59, of Arlington, formerly of Haverhill passed away Friday, May 29 at the Blaire House in Tewksbury after a lengthy battle with COPD and COVID 19.                                     Born in Haverhill he was the son of Janet E. (Bradley) Cloyd and step son of Frank M. Cloyd Jr. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he attended Haverhill public schools and was a Graduate of Whittier Vocational Tech, class of 1979 where he majored in Diesel Mechanics. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country and was honorably discharged after 3 years of service.  For many years Ron worked as a laborer for the cemetery department in the Town of Burlington and later worked in the field of landscaping. He was a NASCAR racing enthusiast and enjoyed nothing more than staying in the comfort of his own home with his wife, Ann and family. He was a very talented handy man, tinkering with cars or whatever needed to be done in his yard or the house.  A devoted husband, father, son, and brother, he leaves his beloved wife of twenty-two years; Ann Marie (Lewis) Rand, of Arlington, sons; Travis Rand and his wife, Jillian, and Kyle Braley, of Manchester, NH, a daughter; Kassey Carruthers and her husband, Shayne, of Goffstown, NH and step sons; Adam Lewis, of Somerville, and Justin Lewis, of San Diego, CA. He is also survived by his parents; Frank M. Cloyd Jr and his wife, Janet E. (Bradley) Cloyd, of Haverhill, his mother in law; Jennie G. Lewis, of Brighton, his siblings; Michael A. Rand and his wife, Pamela, of Bow, NH, Frank M. Cloyd III, and his wife Michelle, of Haverhill, Dawna M. West of Epping, NH, and Russell A. Cloyd and his wife Beth, of Londonderry, NH and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister and brother in law, Karen M. (Cloyd) Gleed and Scott Gleed.  Friends and family are respectfully invited to calling hours on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. As with the Pandemic protocol dictates that we will only allow ten people in the funeral home at one time.     Iam shocked and saddened by the news of Paul’s passing.I was a boyhood friend of Paul and his family.I remember his father at the Riverside memorial Church,his mother gave me my very first taste of goats milk.We rode our bicycles all over riverside and beyond.Paul was a smart,easy going friendly,good hearted friend.There should be more like him.I miss you Paul,may you rest in peace….
