Lena (Solimino) Goldoni, 92 August 6, 1928 - December 26, 2020

Bradford – Lena (Solimino) Goldoni, 92, passed away peacefully at the Lawrence General Hospital on Saturday, December 26, 2020.

Born in Haverhill on August 6, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Vitantonio and Domenica (Sciaraffa) Solimino. She was a lifelong Haverhill resident and attended Haverhill Public Schools. Lena had a very strong work ethic and began her career at the former Boston Model Bakery. She was also a wood heel coverer in the Haverhill Shoe shops. Lena Owned and operated Mary Pauline’s Beauty Shop in Haverhill from 1962 until her retirement in 1988.

She enjoyed sewing, daily visits with her family and had a passion for dancing with her favorite partner, the love of her life, her husband Irio of sixty years.

Lena is survived by her daughter Linda (Goldoni) Cassell of Haverhill, three grandchildren; Laureen Laffey and her husband Joseph, of Haverhill, Jimmy Cassell and his wife Vanessa, of Salisbury, and Michael Cassell and his wife Tanya of Haverhill, four great grandchildren; Joey and Linda Laffey, Jimmy Cassell and Evelyn Cassell, sisters in law; Ellie Goldoni of Bradford and Pasqualina Solimino, of Haverhill and brother in law Les Brown of Bradford along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Irio Goldoni who passed in 2007, her son in law James J. Cassell and her siblings Katherine Nagle, Luigina Fichera, Ann Iannazzo, Constance Brown and Genaro Solimino.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, December 29 at 11:00AM at St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, No. Broadway, Haverhill. Donations may be made in her memory to the Veteran’s Northeast Outreach Center, 11 Reed Street, Haverhill.
