Haverhill – Barbara (Michel) Fitzgerald, 77, wife of the late Lee G. Fitzgerald passed away January 10, 2021 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ida Michel. Raised and educated in Lawrence, she was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1961. Barbara came from a large family, being one of thirteen children. After graduation, she attended school for hairdressing. Barbara worked as a hairdresser and as a nurse’s aide throughout the Merrimac Valley area. She enjoyed baking at home, eating out, and feeding the hummingbirds that would frequent her yard. She, along with her late husband of fifty-two years liked to travel around New England, especially the White Mountains and would join him on his business trips. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Barbara will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Barbara is survived by her children, Kelly Fitzgerald-Gavin of Haverhill; stepson, Lee Fitzgerald Jr. and his wife Debbie of Haverhill and stepdaughter Sharon Vezina of Haverhill; sisters Janice Thompson of Andover and Eileen Higgins and her husband Robert of Hyannis; her beloved grandchildren, Shane Gavin and Logan Hopkins; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her step daughter, Terry-Lee (Fitzgerald) Arsenault.

Was trying to get in touch with her last year. E-mailed her but no response. Called & no answer. Was going to try going to her house then this Covid 19 hit. So sorry for your loss.

It has to give you some comfort knowing Dad and her are together again!
