Groveland – Darrell J Parsons, 80, passed away on February 12, 2021 in his home. He was recently predeceased by his wife Linda Jo Parsons, spouse of 53 years.
Born on a farm in Blackfoot Idaho, Darrell was the son of the late Ervin and Grace (Hoskins) Parsons. Darrell experienced the loss of his first wife shortly after they were married. Wanting to expand his horizons beyond the hay field Darrell took his young daughter, Katherine, to Las Vegas where he worked as an electronics technician. He found love again when he met Linda. The two relocated to California and welcomed their son Jaime. To be closer to Linda’s family, they eventually relocated to Groveland, MA. Linda took a job teaching and Darrell opened his own business, Town and Country TV, installing TV antennas and opening one of the first movie rental stores. Linda and Darrell shared a passion for farming and started Beaver Brook Farm which soon became well known to local area farmer’s markets.
The ultimate backyard engineer Darrell was able to fix just about anything and come up with creative solutions for any farm related problem. He loved his tools and machinery, and could often be seen on his tractor working around the farm. He will be remembered most though for his love of his animals and family. His generous spirit and kind heart impacted everyone who knew him.
Darrell is survived by his children; Darrell Jaime Parsons and his wife Erinn (Cowie) Parsons; Katherine M. Giannatsis and her husband Basil J. Giannatsis; grandchildren; Daniel J. Giannatsis, Timothy D. Giannatsis, Grace I. Giannatsis, Brayden A. Parsons and Wyatt E. Parsons; Sisters; Sharon Prince, Donna Jess, Joanne Anderson and brother Val Parsons;as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his first spouse Jeanne (Freeman) Parsons and brother Gordon Parsons.
Family will hold a celebration of life in the spring, date to be announced.
Donations can be made in his memory to Sweetpawsrescue.org. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Please visit Comeau Funeral Home on Facebook or www.comeaufuneral.com

I am very sorry for the loss of your Dad. I have known Darrell for a very long time as he was a good friend of my Dad, Skip Sheehan and he used to spare drive for us. I would see Darrell at school as we were both picking up our grandsons. He would tell me quite often that he missed my Dad. I will miss you Darrell!! RIP

We’ve just learned of the sad loss of both Linda and Darrell and want to offer our condolences. They were both such open and welcoming people and we valued their friendship and kindness. We still smile remembering them driving their new RV into our driveway to show us their new “wheels”. May the memory of their lives well lived bring you comfort in these difficult days.-Brooke & Rita
