Evelyn S. (Abbott) Croft January 25, 1936 - April 20, 2021

Haverhill – Evelyn S. “Bunny” (Abbott) Croft, 85, wife of Richard E. Croft, passed away April 20, 2021 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.

Born in Newburyport and raised in Groveland, she was the daughter of the late Myron and Sabina Evelyn (Foley) Abbott. With her family, she moved to Groveland in the fourth grade and attended Groveland High School. She finished her senior year and graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1954. Bunny was a nurse attendant at the former Hale Hospital in Haverhill. She had many friends and was an avid reader and Red Sox Fan. With her devoted husband Richard of 61 years, they were extensive travelers, who especially enjoyed New England seafood and exploring Cape Cod and the Hawaiian islands.

In addition to her loving husband Richard, Bunny is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen LaFrance and her husband Brian of Bradford and Anne E. Croft and her companion Don Allen of Winthrop; brothers, Kenneth Abbott of Haverhill and Raymond Abbott of Louisville, KY; her grandchildren, Jacob LaFrance, Christopher LaFrance and Mintamir LaFrance; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Katherine Spofford.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, April 23 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 9:00AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 114 Center Street Groveland at 10:00AM.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Main Street, Groveland.
