Haverhill — Kathleen M. (Kelleher) Owens, 75, wife of the late James J. Owens, passed away September 21, 2021 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Daniel T. and Mildred V. (Horner) Kelleher. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she attended St. James School and was a graduate of St. James High School, Class of 1964. Kathy was a stay-at-home mother and relished taking care of her family. She also worked at Bradford College in the mailroom after her children were grown. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Jim. They took several trips to Las Vegas, Ireland, Aruba, and Jamaica. She also loved her Boston Red Sox as well as rock and roll music while attending many concerts throughout the years. Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kathleen is survived by her children, James J. Owens and his wife Kirsten of Westwood; Kelly Owens-Bryer and her husband Lawrence of Bradford; Michael P. Owens and his fiance Lori Osborne of Salisbury; siblings, Jane E. Kennedy and her husband Andrew of Salem, NH; Daniel T. Kelleher and his wife Linda of North Conway, NH; Dennis P. Kelleher and his wife Gail of Bradford; sister-in-law Betty Lou Kelleher of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Kayla LaMarca and her husband Steven; Kasey Bryer and her partner Ashley Stewart-Espendez, Declan Bryer, Madison Owens, and Eleanor Owens; one great grandson Luke LaMarca; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her late husband, she was predeceased by her son John D. Owens and brother James M. Kelleher.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday September 27th from 5 PM until 7 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday September 28th at 11AM at St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill.In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St. B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
