Michael Gately, 67 January 10, 1954 - October 20, 2021

Haverhill – Michael Gately, 67, passed away peacefully October 20, 2021 at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.  Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late John J (Jack) and Donna L (Clish) Gately, and step son of the late Mary (Doherty) Gately.  Mike attended Haverhill Public Schools and was a 1972 graduate of Haverhill High School.   Mike was employed in many roles, including working in machine shops, for Wang Computers and delivery driving.   Outgoing and fun loving with a great sense of humor, Mike enjoyed his cars, long distance road trips, dogs, all types of music, and trips to the beach.  He was loved by all who knew him.  In his later years, he lived at Phoenix Row, and was a great support and friend to his neighbors.  He will be missed by many.

Mike is survived by his sister Noreen (Jeff) Poirier of Madison, WI, his brother Thomas (Linda) Ferguson of Santa Clarita, CA and his nephew Kevin (Adam) Ferguson and their son Taran, also of Santa Clarita.  In addition, he leaves behind his aunt Nona (Ed) Beauvais and uncle Richard (Claire) Gately, numerous cousins, friends and special friends Barry Burns and Joyce Gould.

Per Mike’s wishes, there are no calling hours.  A graveside service will be held at the Lithuanian Cemetery, Montvale St., Haverhill on Wednesday, November 3 at 1:00PM.  Arrangements are under the direction of Kevin B Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street Haverhill.
