Haverhill – Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Durnin) Enaire, 89, wife of the late Henry J. Enaire, passed away December 2, 2021 at Hannah Duston Healthcare in Haverhill.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Cecelia (DeGrange) Durnin. Raised in Lawrence, she attended Haverhill schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1951. Betty was primarily a homemaker, raising her five children. After her children were grown she worked as an administrator for Bethany Homes, a job she had for over ten years. Betty enjoyed traveling all over New England, shopping and going out to eat. She was a member of the Court of St. James Catholic Daughters #436 and was a lifelong member of St. James Church in Haverhill. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was very close with her family and loved spending time with them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Betty is survived by her children, Dolores Grzesik and her husband Dennis of Oxnard, CA; Henry J. Enaire Jr. and his wife Andrea of Fremont, NH; William R. Enaire and his wife Anne of Amesbury; and Joseph R. Enaire and his wife Dianne of Newton, NH; eight grandchildren, Dennis Grzesik, Heather Vaughn and her husband Will, Katie Fierman and her husband Zack, Billy Enaire, Matt Enaire, Jessica Masotta and her husband Jake, Ali Enaire and Chris Enaire; and two great grandchildren, Braylon Vaughn and Rowan Fierman. In addition to her husband Henry, she was predeceased by her son Thomas Enaire and her sister Jeanne Moynihan.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, December 8 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services will begin 9:30AM Thursday morning in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. James Church, Winter St., Haverhill at 10:30AM Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Primrose St., Haverhill. I was so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing . She and my Mom ( who passed away 2/1/21 ) were such good friends along with Lorraine Soucy . I also remember babysitting for all of you ,in my early high school days, which is how I got to know your folks.
