Newton, NH – Margaret A. “Peg” Hurley, 74, passed away February 3 at Exeter Hospital in Exeter, NH from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Margaret A. (Doucette) Hurley. Raised in Haverhill she attended St. James Grammar School and was a graduate of St. James High School, Class of 1965. She was employed at the former Western Electric, AT&T and Lucent Technologies, retiring in 2002. Peg loved the beach and lived in Salisbury for 20 years. She moved to Newton, NH two years ago. She enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, and shopping, but her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her nephew, niece, and 5 great nephews. Peg will be missed by all who knew and loved her; she was referred to as “Aunt Peggy” by many people.
Peg is survived by her brothers, Joseph P. Hurley and his wife Terri of Lyman, NH and James M. Hurley and his wife Mary Ellen of Kingston, NH; nephew Christopher J. Hurley and his wife Stephanie of Northfield, NH and niece Maeve-Marie Richard and her husband Erik of Newton, NH. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother John F. “Jack” Hurley Jr.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, February 9 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home Thursday morning at 9:00 AM in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. James Church, Winter St., Haverhill.
