Atkinson, NH – Arthur F. McCusker, Jr., 84, husband of Jacquelyn P. (Hunt) McCusker, passed away at his home March 1, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Malden, he was the son of the late Arthur F. and Florence M. (Melanson) McCusker. Raised in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School. He served his country in the United States Army from, 1961 until 1963 and was honorably discharged. Arthur lived in New Hampshire for over 55 years. He was employed at the former Western Electric as a pipefitter. He owned and operated A and J Stables in Hampstead, NH and had a love for horse racing. Arthur enjoyed Trottingbred Racing and was a member of the National Trottingbred Association. With his wife Jacquelyn, he spent winters for many years in Zephyrhills, FL and was a golfer and an avid sports fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Celtics and the New England Patriots. Arthur was a member of St. Anne’s Parish in Hampstead, NH. A devoted husband, father, Papa and great grandpa, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his loving wife of over 60 years, he is survived by his daughters, Sherry Bell and her husband Don of East Hampstead, NH; Kathleen Schofield and her husband James of Atkinson, NH and Jacquelyn P. O’Brien and her husband James of Salem, NH; grandchildren, Brandon and Conor Bell, Kevin Quinn and Kelsey Murphy, Michael and Allison Schofield, Fiona, Ryley and Noah O’Brien; great grandson, Julian Schofield; sisters, Margaret Pfifferling of Haverhill and Rosemarie “Rosie” Comeau of Northwood, NH; sister in law Celeste McCusker of Haverhill; brother in law Joseph Rowe of Raymond, NH; and extended family. He was predeceased by his brother, James McCusker and sister, Susan Rowe.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, March 4 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.
