Plaistow, NH – Diolinda Santas (Ponte) Lewis, 87, wife of the late Donald J. Lewis, passed away April 20, 2022 at Evergreen Place in Manchester, NH.
Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Jaun and Gloria (Bairos) Ponte. She was raised in Wakefield and graduated Wakefield High School, Class of 1952. “Dee” as she was known was a lover of life always with a smile and wonderful attitude. She adored her friends and cherished her time with them. Dee loved to dance and travel and was notorious for her many quirky hats. She lived some years in Meredith, NH where she worked as a set designer for Annalee Doll Company and was an avid collector. She also worked at several retirement homes as activity director where she got to care for elderly people. She loved people and caring for them was a labor of love for her. She loved to be with her sons and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Diolinda is survived by her son Captain Scott J. Lewis and his wife Cindy of Plaistow, NH; grandchildren, Rachel D. Lewis, David J. Lewis and Emily R. Lewis all of Plaistow, NH; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Charles D. Lewis, husband Donald J. Lewis and sisters Rosemarie McCormack and Adeline Fecteau.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, April 27 from 10:00AM until 12:00 Noon at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 12:00 Noon. Burial will be in West Parish Cemetery, 129 Reservation Rd., Andover.
