Haverhill – Grace F. (Cook) Warner, 86, a lifelong resident of Haverhill and wife of Robert C. Warner, passed away on September 22 at the Boston Medical Center after being stricken ill suddenly at her home.
Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Edward f. and Veronica (Olenick) Cook. She attended Haverhill Public Schools and Haverhill High School. Mrs. Warner began her career in the Haverhill shoe industry working for Ornstein Shoe and Bernie Shoe. She then moved on to A.T. & T and retired from Lucent Technologies.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she loved cooking for her family. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She was a weekly shopper at the Haverhill farmers market. An avid reader, she read the Eagle Tribune daily word for word in its entirety and was a close follower of Haverhill politics.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert C. Warner of Haverhill, her children, Elizabeth “Liz” and her partner, Richard Murray, of Haverhill, Robert C. Warner Jr. and his wife Christine, of Sandown, NH, Lisa Warner, of Haverhill, and George Warner and his partner, Christine Hamilton of Salem, NH and her son in law Leejay Mitchell of Haverhill as she was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl Mitchell. She also leaves her grandchildren, Nathan Warner, Brett Murray, Steven Carter, Naomi Mitchell, Jason Warner, Christopher Warner Jeffrey Warner and nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Jonathan Warner.
