Haverhill – Kevin David Fitzgerald, 73, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, loving husband of Donna R. (Nicol) Fitzgerald for over thirty-seven years, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 14 at the Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill.
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Michael G. and Mary F. (Luddy) Fitzgerald. He attended Haverhill public schools and was a Graduate of Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1968.
Being born into the Fitzgerald Farm family, he had a strong work ethic from his beginnings. He along with his siblings ran the farm on Kenoza Street. Mr. Fitzgerald was owner and operator of Fitzgerald Trucking. He hauled gravel, asphalt, hay and snow, for several local companies throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Kevin was a kind, caring man with a heart of gold and possessed a very dry Irish sense of humor along with his trade mark of a “Smirk”. If you were in need Kevin was always there to help. He and his wife Donna enjoyed traveling to exotic locations for yearly vacations. Kevin also participated in Tractor pull competitions at various fairs in New England.
A devoted husband, brother, uncle, and Papa, he lived for his family and he enjoyed nothing more than family gatherings. He is survived by his wife, Donna R. (Nicol) Fitzgerald, of Haverhill, daughter, Nicole D. Kelley – Johnstone and her husband, Eric, of Litchfield, NH, a granddaughter, Rachel S. Wood, two great grandchildren, Holden S. Walton and Brynn W. Wood, his siblings; Margaret “Peggy” Sandlin and her husband John, of Haverhill, Michael Fitzgerald and his wife Patricia, of Haverhill, Thomas Fitzgerald and his wife, Michele, of Newton, NH and several loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, 12/19 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home 486 Main St. Haverhill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday 12/20 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, Lincoln Ave. Haverhill. Burial will follow at Walnut Cemetery, Kenoza St. Haverhill.
