Betty Faye Lawton of Haverhill, formerly of Laconia NH, passed peacefully on Friday Jan 6th, at the age of 94.
Betty Faye was born and raised in Georgia. She graduated from Emory University and went on to be a microbiologist at the C.D.C. in the 60’s. She later moved to Delaware to work for ICI America (now Astazeneca) in the 70’s and 80’s.
Betty Faye moved north to Laconia NH after retiring to be closer to the grandkids. There she enjoyed fishing, hiking and kayaking in the warmer months and snowshoeing and cross country skiing in the winter months! She also loved sailing on the Chesapeake when she lived in Delaware.
Betty Faye was an avid sports fan and after moving to New England became a huge Red Sox and Patriots fan. She also loved college football and basketball to the point where she set up multiple TV’s to catch all the Bowl games and March Madness!
Betty Faye is survived by her 3 children. Sara Faye Lawton of Smith station AL., Frank (Andy) Lawton of Newark DE., and Brian Lawton with wife Paul, of Bradford MA.. 3 Grandchildren, Shawna Marion with husband Steven of Haverhill MA., Brian C. Lawton of Greenfield WI., and Kimberly Dempsey with husband Joshua of Sandown NH. 7 Great-grandchildren, David, Emma, Eve, and Ava Marion, and Chase, Ari, and Rylee Dempsey.
Services will be private.
