MERRIMAC, MA – Gail A. (Griggs) Gillen, 79, passed away on Tuesday, May 9 in Merrimac, MA.
Gail was born in Haverhill on February 4, 1944 to Charles A. and Irene D. (Ladebush) Griggs. Gail attended Sacred Hearts School in Haverhill and Pentucket High School, Class of 1962. She was an avid reader, loved shopping, taking day trips to casinos and traveling throughout the U.S. Gail was a good cook and a great baker; a devoted mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Gail is survived by her daughter Katie and Rodney Valladeres, Merrimac, MA, and her grandchildren Tyler Valladares and Mason Valladares, sister-in-law Mary Griggs, Newton, NH and ex-husband Frank Gillen and significant other Fran Kircorian, Plainville, MA. She also leaves behind her best friend who was like a sister to her, Barbara Sanborn, Merrimac, MA, and several nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
Gail was predeceased by two infant daughters Dawn Day and Christine Day; and her brothers Charles A. Griggs, Jr., and Robert M. Griggs.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, May 15 from 10AM until 11AM, funeral service to follow at 11AM at the Kevin B.
