Gregory C. Johnson, 56, died on Sunday, May 21 at his home, in Haverhill.
Gregory was born in Lawrence, MA on August 25, 1966 to Charles and Susan (Darling) Johnson. He grew up in Danville, NH, raising his family in Kingston NH and eventually settling in Haverhill in 2010. He attended both Timberlane Regional HS and Litchfield High School. He graduated from Litchfield High School, CT and went on to study at both UConn and Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill.
Gregory was a hard worker; he was a commercial roofer for many years, mainly with Reliable Roofing And Sheet Metal, among others. He recently started his own business, GCJ Enterprises LLC, working as a carpenter, roofing and sheet metal consultant. Gregory was an avid reader. He enjoyed skiing, riding motorcycles and dirt bikes, canoeing and kayaking. He was a lover of all animals, never meeting a dog or cat he didn’t like, often described as “a dog whisperer”. Gregory was a devoted father who will be dearly missed.
Gregory is survived by his mother Susan (Darling) Johnson, Rochester, NH, son Dennis G. Johnson and fiancé Ashley Carroll, Kittery, ME, brother Paul S. and wife Colleen Johnson , Danville, NH, his best friend Sherry Calnan, of Haverhill, MA, his nephew Paul R. Johnson and fiance Melissa Sych of Kingston, NH and niece Jordann S. Johnson and fiance Jessica Lee of Portsmouth, NH, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Charles S. Johnson.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, June 5 from 4PM until 7PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.

I remember him coming over our house and showing me how to carve wood. So very talented. Having Thanksgiving dinner with Sue, Chuck and Paul.
