MERRIMAC, MA – James Harold Mazza, 78, died on Monday June 12 at Penacook Place Nursing Home in Haverhill.
James was born in Haverhill on December 4, 1944. He was educated in Haverhill schools and graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1962. He worked for over 30 years as a custodian at the Glynn Memorial Nursing Home. James could be found singing karaoke all over Massachusetts. He enjoyed walking around Merrimac, rides to the Berkshires, and cookouts with family. The family would like to express thanks to Sarah’s Place and Penacook Nursing Home for the care provided to James.
James is survived by his sister Leslie Gould and her husband William, Bradford, MA, his nephews William J. Gould Jr., Sean Mazza, and niece Kaitlyn Gould.
James is predeceased by his parents Anthony C. and Joan (Boulanger) Mazza, brothers Anthony G. Mazza and Stephen A. Mazza and his longtime companion of many years Virginia Koivisto.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday June 15 from 4PM until 7PM. Funeral service on Friday, June 16 at 10AM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Burial to follow at Linwood Cemetery, 41 John Ward Ave., Haverhill.
