GROVELAND – Hallie T. Taplin, formally of Haverhill, MA, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 29, at his home at Nichols Village in Groveland.
Hallie was born on October 10, 1934 in Lowell to Francis W. and Marion E. (Murphy) Taplin. Hallie attended Lowell public schools and went on to graduate from Haverhill Trade School. He proudly served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. Hallie was a quiet, reserved man with a strong work ethic. He worked as an electrician by trade working for Strike’s Electric Company, Western Electric and then retired from Lucent Technologies after 40 years of service. He was very creative, loved working in his yard and could always be found tinkering around the house. Hallie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished his grandchildren.
Hallie is survived by his wife of 66 years Corrine Alice (Sauriol) Taplin, of Groveland, daughters Dr. Mary-Ellen Taplin and her partner Harry Kasparian, of Boston, and Dianne Connolly and her husband Peter, of Haverhill; and brothers William Taplin, of Newburyport, and James Taplin and partner Nancy Mahoney, of Nashua. He is also survived by grandchildren Dr. Emily Carol and her husband Dr. Jordan Krechmer, Dr. Hallie Carol, Andrew and Megan Connolly, Erin Connolly and Matthew Connolly. He was predeceased by his brother Francis Taplin and a son-in-law Dr. Ross Carol.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Saturday July 1, from 11AM until 1 PM, followed by a funeral service 1PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Burial to follow at the Walnut Cemetery, 1830 Kenoza St., Haverhill.
