HAVERHILL, MA – John “Jay”Jalbert, 65, of Haverhill, MA, passed away on Saturday, October 28 from injuries sustained in an ATV accident in West Virginia. Jay died doing what he loved, which was living life to the fullest, full throttle, hammer down.
John was born on September 11, 1958 in Lawrence, MA to Robert J. Guimond and Louise M. (Delescluse) Guimond. He was the founder of Bay State Limousine of Haverhill, MA, which was established in 1984. He was also the owner of Methuen Motor Mart of Methuen, MA. Jay lived life to the fullest, was known for being hardworking, adventurous, and a free spirit. Jay loved to drive and fix anything with an engine. He was always chasing his next adventure and making new friends along the way. Every one of these friends were a part of his story. From Key West to Canada, Jay left his mark wherever he would go. Jay’s favorite places was being on the open road or out on his boat. He made a road trip across the county seem like it was right down the street. Jay was always right around the corner or 5 minutes away. Jay had a voice we will never forget, and his sense of time is one we will never understand. He will be remembered as a great friend, loving father, grandfather, and lover of dogs.
Jay is survived by his son John J. and Erica (Dequina) Jalbert, Jr., of Kingston, NH, and daughters Nancy M. and Joseph D. Tufts, of Londonderry, NH, Brittany Roberts, of Newburyport, MA, Chelsea and Justin DiRienzo, of Beacon Falls, CT. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Austin Barnes, Dillon Tufts, Joseph Tufts, Jr., and Jolene Jalbert. John leaves behind a lifetime of friends that became his family. John was the brother to Wayne Jalbert, of Haverhill, MA, and Mark and Debbie Guimond, of Port Charlotte, FL; and his sister Patricia and Stephen Call, of Mt. Vernon.
