Dr. Peter L. Manis, 83 February 11, 1941 - June 18, 2024

HAVERHILL – Dr. Peter L. Manis, 83, loving husband of Karen (Beck) Manis, passed away on Tuesday, June 18 at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center.

Peter was born in Haverhill on February 11, 1941. He was the son of George and Irene (Morrissette) Manis. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, studied at St. Michaels College and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School for Orthodontics. Peter went on to serve in the US Army from 1966 to 1968, then returned to Haverhill where he practiced orthodontics for 46 years.

Peter was a brilliant man of many talents; he was always busy, a talented carpenter and builder, with a passion for cars, trucks and golf. He enjoyed teaching at Tufts University and served on Haverhill City Council. Peter was dedicated to his family, a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Peter is survived by his wife Karen (Beck) Manis, his sons Garrett Manis of Haverhill, Parker Manis and his wife Adrienne of Beverly, and daughter Devon Huberdeau and her husband Adam of Groveland. He also leaves behind his sister Sheila Manis of Haverhill, and his seven grandchildren Victoria Carnes-Manis, Kendra Manis, Luke Tucker, Vivie Huberdeau, Porter Manis, Sawyer Manis and Asher Manis.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, June 23 from 2PM until 5PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 24 at 9:30 AM at Sacred Hearts Parish, 165 S Main Street, Haverhill. Burial to follow on Tuesday, June 25 at 12PM at the New Hampshire Veteran’s Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
