ATKINSON, NH – Ellen L. (Lamond) Demeritt, 74, of Atkinson, NH passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.

Born in Haverhill on May 14, 1950 she was the daughter of Allan “Sonny” and Nancy K. (Skillings) Lamond. She was a graduate of Pentucket High School, Class of 1968 then went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New Hampshire and a Masters Degree from New Hampshire College. Ellen taught Data Processing at Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School for 25 years, until her retirement in 2005. She enjoyed many years as a snowbird, wintering in Naples, FL. She was very independent, had a great sense of humor and always pushed her family to study and be well educated. Ellen loved her dogs, was an avid crafter and cherished her grandchildren.  She will be remembered fondly as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed but her lasting legacy will never be forgotten.

Ellen is survived by her loving husband Dennis C. Demeritt of Atkinson, NH, daughters Nancy L. Calverley and Kris Dawidowicz of Newton, NH, and Lani B. Venturi and her husband Stephen of Haverhill, and grandchildren Jason and Jonathan Phaneuf, Luke Dawidowicz, Chloi, Jack and Matthew Venturi. She also leaves behind her brother Brian Lamond and his wife Elaine of Barnstead, NH and several nieces and nephews.
