Norman P. Taylor, 85

HAVERHILL – Norman P. Taylor, 85, longtime resident of Riverside in Haverhill, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025 at the Port Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Newburyport.

Norman was born in Haverhill; he was the son of Edmund F. and Reba (Cogswell) Taylor. He was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School, after which he served in the US Marine Corps and was stationed in Cuba where he worked as horse farrier as part of his service. Along with his lifelong career as a heavy equipment operator in the local construction industry, Norman continued working as horse farrier, as well as a volunteer firefighter in Merrimac, where he was best known as “Gomer”.

Norman is survived by his daughter Beth Church and her husband David of Haverhill, their son Joshua Church and family of Bradford, daughter Tammy Taylor of West Newbury, and granddaughter Eleisha Cascarano from Haverhill. He also leaves behind his nieces Tracy Taylor of Kingston, NH, and Kelly Raber of Washington State, as well as his great grandchildren Nathaniel and Gianna Cascarano. He was predeceased by his wife Linda (Osgood) Taylor and his brother David Taylor.
