HAVERHILL – Shane B. MacLeod, 34, of Haverhill, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Haverhill and raised in both Haverhill and Newton, New Hampshire, Shane was the beloved son of Lisa A. Cronin (Deveau) and Scott MacLeod, and stepson of John T. Cronin. He was the loving father of Mason B. MacLeod and brother to Jack M. Cronin. He was the grandson of Dale V. Deveau and Antoinette M. Deveau, and was predeceased by his loving Nonnie, Margaret “Peg” MacLeod. His Godmother Auntie Michelle M. Walsh (Deveau) was his biggest advocate and cared for him dearly, and his close friend Pete Oakes was a constant support in his life. Shane is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him deeply.
Shane will be remembered for his genuine heart and good manners. As a student at Sanborn Regional High School, he was smart, athletic, and a loyal friend. He loved skiing, baseball, football, and fishing. He was a proud fan of Boston sports especially the Red Sox, Celtics, and the Patriots. Those who knew him will remember his good heart, his humor, and how he was always respectful.
Though his life’s journey was not an easy one, his family chooses to remember the good, the love, laughter, and moments that truly reflected who he was at heart. He faced struggles with mental health and addiction, but those challenges do not define who he was. His story is a reminder of compassion, understanding, and the importance of holding onto the best parts of those we love.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at High Pointe Hospice House for the incredible care they provided. Their kindness and compassion helped Shane feel truly at home in his final days. They would also like to thank the many doctors, nurses, first responders, and caring individuals throughout the community who supported Shane over the past year with patience and understanding. The care and kindness shown to him by so many around town will never be forgotten.
ARRANGEMENTS – Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, November 21st from 3PM until 5:30PM, followed by a funeral home chapel service at 5:30PM at the Kevin B. Lisa and family, my heartfelt condolences in the loss of your son, Shane. I’m keeping you in my prayers.
I love you cousin. The world swalloed you up too soon. You were funny, always talking about the future or the next thing, coming to New York, you laughed, smiled – pulled hard on a cigarette and drove fast. A beautiful boy. That’s how I’ll remember you.
