Catherine C. (Sullivan) McGranachan, 84, of Groveland, formerly of Cotuit, died Tuesday, October 5, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, after a lengthy illness.Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late, Daniel and Mary (Walsh) Sullivan. She attended Boston Public Schools and was a Graduate of Roslindale High School, Class of 1945. A resident of Cotuit for many years, she relocated to Groveland six years ago.A homemaker most of her life, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, and her flowers made it into the landscapes of her many friends and family members’ yards.The widow of James J. McGranachan Sr., who died in 2000, she leaves three daughters, Cathy M. McGranahan, of Georgetown, Janice A. Keefe, and her husband, Edward, of Lynn, and Jean M. Huggins, and her husband, Ronald, of Falls Church, VA, four grandchildren, James J. Keefe, Emily J. McGranachan, Hunter M. Huggins, and Alexis N. Huggins, two brothers, John Sullivan, Daniel Sullivan and his wife Margaret, of Cotuit, a sister, Mary E. Sullivan, of Roslindale, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, James J. McGranachan Jr., and a sister, Eleanor McDonough.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call Friday morning from 11 AM until 12:30 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday following the period of visitation at 1:00 PM in Sacred Hearts Church, South Main St. Bradford. A private burial will take place at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Home Health Foundation, 360 Merrimack St. Building 9, Entrance 1, Lawrence, MA 01843.
