Louise (Varrette) Charney, 86 of, Yonkers New York, formerly of Haverhill, died January 18, at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport.Born in Newburyport, she was the daughter of the late, Frank J. E. and Caroline M. (Dondero) Varrrette. Raised in Amesbury, she was a Graduate of St. Joseoph Grammar School and Graduate of Amesbury High School, Class of 1942. She not only received her Bachelors Degree but she also earned a Master’s Degree from Boston University. Later she would attend Columbia University and earn another Masters Degree in Dance Physiology.Louise was a professional dance instructor and taught dance in various studios throughout the metropolitan New York City area. She also competed worldwide in Flamenco Dance. Dancing was Louise’s life and she spent every moment learning, teaching, and sharing with others the beauty and grace that was the art of dancing. She will be missed and remembered dearly by the many who had the fortunate opportunity to be taught by or dance with Louise as well as all who knew and loved her.The widow of Mr. David Charney, she is survive by her brother, George A Verrette and his wife Janice (Schena) of Haverhill, her sister, Frances T. Verrette of Haverhill, a nephew, George Verrette Jr., three nieces, Laura Verrette-Proia, Christina, and Kara Varrette, and her two beloved dogs, Bingo and Foxy.Memorial services will be held at a later date in Yonkers New York.
