Robert Jason Heald, Sr., 63, of Fremont, NH, formerly of Chelmsford, died Sunday, February 19, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.Born in Chelmsford, March 28, 1948, he was the son of the late, Frederic and Ruby (Hill) Heald. He attended Chelmsford public schools and was a Graduate of Chelmsford High School, Class of 1967.A Veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Heald proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Having served aboard the USS Walworth County, he was honorably discharged after four years of service.For the past fifteen years, Mr. Heald was employed as a truck driver for the Wal-Mart Corporation. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed time spent with his family. He especially loved the long rides on his Harley with his loving wife, Lynn.He leaves his beloved wife, Lynn A. (Pellegrino) Heald, of Fremont, NH, a son Robert J. Jr, of Concord, NH, a daughter, Jennifer L. Smith and her husband, Mark, of Michigan, step sons, Keith and Matthew Babcock, of Fremont, NH, a stepdaughter, Christina Babcock, of Boston, a sister Dianne Hanson, of Brunswick, ME, six cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Jeremy, Charlie, Jessica, Robbie, Skyla, and Lilliana, aunt, Barbara Hill, of Marion, MA, nephews, John and Eric Hanson, a niece, Kristine Wescott and cousins who will miss him dearly.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Wednesday, February 22, from 5 until 8 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial with military Honors will follow in the Veterans Section of Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
