Irving Richardson

Irving Edward Richardson, 82, of Haverhill, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family.Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Viola E. (Knight) Richardson. He attended Haverhill public schools and Haverhill Trade School.A World War II veteran, he enlisted into the regular Army from high school then re-enlisted into the Army Air Force being honorably discharged in 1947.Mr. Richardson was employed as a senior operator in the ferrite powder area of the former Western Electric and AT&amp T in North Andover for over 40 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the telephone Pioneers of America.A devoted family man, his joy in life came from the cherished time spent with family and friends. He leaves his beloved wife of 60 years, Gloria M. (Bilodeau) Richardson of Haverhill three sons, David A. and his wife Elizabeth of Belmont, Stephen M. of Haverhill, Paul E. and his wife Martha of Sandown, N.H. five daughters, Gail A. Barnum of Haverhill, Pamela M. Waslaw and her husband Robert of Methuen, Sheila J. Coombs and her husband Larry of Haverhill, Diane E. Lucier and her husband Stephen of Portsmouth, R.I., Sandra J. Drolet and her husband Paul of Haverhill a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ethell Richardson of Salisbury two sisters, Mabel Paulino of Groveland and Mary Boulay and her husband Robert of Haverhill 16 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family are respectfully invited to call today, Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., (Route 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Saturday, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Maplewood North Parish Cemetery, Route 121, Plaistow, N.H.
