Lloyd Edward Hartwick, 81, of Haverhill, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill, after a lengthy illness.Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late, Harry and Jeanne (Gillespie) Hartwick. He attended Haverhill Public Schools and Haverhill High School.He left high school his junior year to enlist in the U.S. Navy. A World War II veteran, he served aboard the USS Wisconsin and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal.He was honorably discharged as a Seamen Second Class. In his early career, Mr. Hartwick was employed as a flooring contractor. He later became head of Maintenance at Mission Towers in Haverhill, retiring in 1995 after twenty years of service to the Bethany Community. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed dancing. He listened to classical music and was a car buff.He leaves a son, Richard A. Hartwick of Maine two daughters, Joyce E. Schleif and her husband Mark, of Florida, and Jill A. Aube of Maine six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a, son, Gary L. Hartwick a daughter, Jeanne Hartwick brother, Gordon sister, Hazel and longtime companion, Natalie Poole.ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Kevin B.
