Rebecca Peavey

Rebecca (Dooey) Peavey, 93, of Haverhill, died Wednesday, July 7, at the Hannah Duston Health Care Center in Haverhill, after a lengthy illness.Born in Eastbrook, Maine, she was the daughter of the late, Daniel D. and Lucy (Rankin) Dooey. She attended Bangor Public Schools and was a Graduate of Bangor High School. She earned her teaching degree from Wheaton College, Graduating in 1939.Mrs. Peavey was employed as a librarian in Bangor, Maine, and later Haverhill. She taught children with special needs in the Haverhill Public School System. She enjoyed researching her family genealogy and wrote of her family history. She was a member of the West Parish Congregational Church.She leaves four sons, David C., Jonathan D., Timothy D. and Daniel F., two daughters, Diane B. and Deborah L. Aldridge, twenty-three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.Funeral services and burial are private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill.
