Rev. John MacKerron

Rev. John A. “Jack” MacKerron, 87, of Haverhill, Massachusetts, passed away on October 9. Rev. MacKerron was born on November 11, 1925, in Brockton, Massachusetts. He graduated from BrocktonHigh School and then from Wentworth Institute of Technology, and later attended PhiladelphiaCollege of the Bible. Before being called to the ministry in 1962, Rev. MacKerron worked as a builder and carpenter in southeastern Massachusetts and on Cape Cod and served for three years in the United States Army. He served as the pastor for several churches over the following four decades, including those in Hollis Center, Maine, Conway, New Hampshire, Bradenton, Florida, Jackman, Maine, and Houlton, Maine. In between pastorates, Rev. MacKerron also ran a home for delinquent boys and held various leadership posts for the Christian &amp Missionary Alliance. He retired to Haverhill in 2002, residing at BethanyHomes until recently moving to Penacook Place. Rev. MacKerron was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Elsie Kelley MacKerron, as well as by his sister, Miriam Holman, and his son, Douglas MacKerron. He is survived by his daughter, Miriam Bryant, and her husband, Perry, of Lee, New Hampshire, his son, John MacKerron, and his wife, Denise, of New York, New York, and his four grandchildren, Amanda Bryant, Nathan Bryant, Matthew Bryant and Jane MacKerron. A private committal service for the family will be held at BoscawenNationalCemetery. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Partners in Health of Maine in Waterville, Maine. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Kevin B.
