Robert Hannagan

Lawrence – Robert A. “Zeke” Hannagan, 69, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully, on December 8, 2013 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston with his loving family by his side. Born in Methuen, November 4, 1944, he was the son of the late, John and Stasia (Krol) Hannagan. Raised and educated in Lawrence, he attended Lawrence Public Schools and Lawrence High School, graduating in 1962. A Vietnam Veteran, Mr. Hannagan proudly served in the Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1966. He then continued his education in law enforcement attending New Hampshire College. Mr. Hannagan began his career as a Police Officer for the City of Haverhill in 1969 retiring as a Detective after thirty years of service to the citizens of Haverhill. He leaves his beloved wife, Carolyn J. (Whittaker) Hannagan, of Lawrence, two sons, Christopher Parsons and his wife Susan, of Methuen, and David Parsons, two sisters, Elizabeth Cronin, of Methuen, and Pauline Heighton and her husband, Stan, of Fayetteville, GA, a brother, James Hannagan, of Middleton, sister in law, Myrna Nogast and her husband Richard, of Haverhill, brother in law, Bertram Whittaker and his wife, Dorothea, of Middleton, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several loving nieces and nephews. Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral, 486 Main St. Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 10:00 AM in the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Barker St. Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
