Haverhill – Claire J. (Pelletier) Gebala, 86, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the Penacook Place Nursing Home after a period of declining health. Born in Georgetown, she was the daughter of the late, Leo H. and Lillian M. (Labombard) Pelletier. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1944. Mrs. Gebala was employed at the Lawrence General Hospital for over twenty years, retiring in 1991. In her younger days, Claire loved fishing, swimming, boating and dancing. She was gifted with a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing along as her brother would play guitar. She was a great cook and baker. A crafter, she also knitted and made ceramics. Most of all, she cherished her time spent with family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The widow of Chester J. Gebala who died in 1990, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She leaves a loving daughter, Marie E. Quigg and her husband, Edward F., of Haverhill, three cherished grandchildren, Kristie M. Quigg – Smedile, Karen M. Daviduk and her husband, Alan, and Rene N. Bellavance and her husband, Kevin, twelve great grandchildren, a brother, Richard Pelletier and his wife, Betty, of Salem, NH and Florida, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Loretta M. Gosselin, and Rita Harrigan. Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Friday, December 20, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning beginning at 10:30 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 AM in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill.
