Haverhill – Joan L. (Watts) McAuliffe, 83, of Little Rock, Arkansas, formerly of Haverhill, passed away April 11, 2014, after a lengthy illness.She was born in Malden, January 9, 1931, the daughter of the late, Francis and Alice (Tucker) Watts. As a child her family relocated to Groveland where she attended grammar school and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1949. Shortly after graduation, she enlisted into the U.S. Navy, proudly serving during the Korean War.Along with being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. McAuliffe had a long and varied career. She was employed as an assembler at the Western Electric in North Andover, she waited tables at Ralph’s Restaurant and DiBurro’s Function Facility, and also worked at the Hospitality Shop at the Hale Hospital.The Widow of Jack D. McAuliffe, Sr., who died in 2005, she leaves her loving children, Patti J. McAuliffe and her partner, Donna Hawkins, with whom she lived, of Little Rock, AR, Jack Dennis McAuliffe Jr., and his wife, Wendy, Timothy G. McAuliffe, Michael S. McAuliffe and his wife, Christine, Brian T. McAuliffe, Thomas P. McAuliffe, and Matthew P. McAuliffe, all of Haverhill, a brother, Henry Watts, of Atkinson, NH, cherished grandchildren, Joshua, Kelsey, Benjamin, Brianna, Michael, Devon, Justin, Megan, and Ayla. She was expecting her first great grandchild this coming fall, and was predeceased by her daughter, Heidi.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Thursday evening from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday morning from the funeral home followed by a graveside committal service with Military Honors at 11:00 AM in Linwood Cemetery, John Ward Ave. Haverhill.
