Haverhill – Kathleen T. Gogas, 88, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, April 17, at Penacook Place Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late, George S. and Mary B. (Collins) Gogas. Educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of St. James Grammar School and St. James High School, class of 1945.Miss Gogas was employed as a telephone operator for New England Telephone Co. throughout her entire career, serving the company for forty years, retiring in 1985. In her spare time, Kay enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling and summers at the cottage she shared with her sisters at Hampton Beach. Kathleen is survived by her two brothers, George Gogas, of Haverhill, and Joseph A. Gogas, of Plaistow, NH, her two sisters with whom she lived, Anna E. Gogas, and Mary M. “Molly” Gogas, both of Haverhill. Kathleen was predeceased by her sister, Frances J. McGrath, and her brother, William G. “Gerry” Gogas. She also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews, William “Jay” Gogas, of Hampton Beach, NH Shawn M. Gogas, of Alexandria, VA Christopher “Chris” Gogas, of St Cloud, FL Michele M. Gogas, of Haverhill Joseph Gogas II, of Toronto, Canada Cheryl Gogas, of Plaistow, NH and Cheyenne Silva, of Haverhill Molly Elizabeth Gogas, of Plaistow, NH Jonathan Gogas, of Plaistow, NH, and several other nieces and nephews.Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend funeral services for Miss Gogas on Tuesday morning at 11:00 AM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Haverhill. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
