Haverhill – Thomas A. Devaney, 59, of Derry, NH, formerly of Salem, NH, passed away Tuesday, march 31, 2015 at the Holy family Hospital in Methuen after a brief illness. Born in Methuen, he was the son of the late, Dr. Robert L. and Emma (Martin) Devaney. He attended St. Laurence O’Toole Grammar School and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1973. He continued his education at Northern Essex Community College and later attended Merrimack College and received his Master’s Degree from Boston College.Mr. Devaney was employed as an accountant for all of his career. Working in the healthcare industry, he served as accountant and advisor for several Nursing Homes throughout Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. An avid baseball fan, he enjoyed living between Florida and New Hampshire, and attending games. He was a fan of all Boston sports teams and a true fan of the Three Stooges, he knew all there was to know about that trio. A loving brother, and uncle, he leaves his siblings Dr. Robert L. Devaney Jr., and his wife, Kathleen, of Charlestown, Christopher M. Devaney, of New Limerick, ME, Rosemary Fowles and her husband, Bruce, of Washington, ME, Timothy E. Devaney and his wife, Kathryn (Lynch), of Haverhill, Dr. William J. Devaney and his wife, Elizabeth, of Stratham, NH, Ann Ostwald and her husband, Joseph, of Portland, ME, and John F. Devaney, and his significant other, Jennifer Silvestro, of Northwood, NH, several nieces and nephews and cousins. Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service for Mr. Devaney on Saturday at 12:00 Noon at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill.
