William J. Abrams, 55, of Derry, NH formerly of Haverhill, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 15th at the Manchester VA Hospital in Manchester NH. He was born in Haverhill to Ellis W. and Claire M. (Deveau) Abrams of Hampstead, NH. He attended St. Joseph’s Grammar School and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1978. He then attended Hesser College in NH. After graduating he proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an electronics technician and was honorably discharged. William worked at Pat’s Beef House as a prep cook and also as a maintenance technician at the BB Rubber Company in Nashua, NH. He was a collector of model trains and model cars. William loved spending time at Hampton Beach and Big Island Pond in Hampstead, NH.In addition to his loving parents, William leaves his longtime girlfriend, Barbara Fuller-Oliver of Derry, NH three sisters, Maryetta Sciuto and her husband Michael of Makawao, HI Diana Elsemiller and her husband Daniel of Haverhill and Cynthia Amidon and her husband George of Wilmington two nephews, Daniel J. Elsemiller and his wife Tara and Michael Sciuto and a niece, Rachel Sciuto a great nephew, Aidan Elsemiller. William’s family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of care givers on the Palliative Care Unit at VA Manchester.Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours from 10a until 12 noon on Saturday, July 11th at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A memorial service will immediately follow at 12 noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s, 892 Hilldale Avenue, Haverhill.
