Groveland – Josephine (Palermo) Cuocolo, 94, of Groveland passed away Thursday May 28th surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Maria (Manguso) Palermo, raised in Chelsea she attended Chelsea Schools. Mrs. Cuocolo was employed as a stitcher in the clothing industry. She was a longtime member of Daughters of Italy. She enjoyed cooking and mostly relished in being a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.She and her late husband, Angelo, were frequent travelers and cherished their memorable trips. Josephine and her husband raised their children in Revere then relocating to Groveland in 1991 and celebrated 60 years of marriage. She was a woman of strong faith and was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Groveland. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her. The widow of Angelo R. Cuocolo who died in 2008, she leaves her loving daughters, Kathleen C. Cuocolo or Concord and Angela C. Miele and her husband Joseph of Londonderry, NH eight grandchildren, Craig and his wife Melissa Hurd, Vicki Hurd, Sean Butze, Colby Hurd, Alysia Dushane, Dallis Hurd and Julia Dushane two great grandchildren, Sophia and Vincent Hurd and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Marie A. Hurd and her husband Lendell A. Hurd a brother, Peter Palermo and a sister Gina Limoli. Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Monday morning for a period of visitation from 9am until 11am at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 11:30am at St. Patrick’s Church, Center Street, Groveland. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Main Street, Groveland.
