Haverhill – Dennis W. McFadden, 68, a lifelong resident of Haverhill passed away, Monday, August 31, surrounded by his loving family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a two year battle with cancer.Born in Haverhill, he was the son of Thomas E. and Gwen (Johannesdottir) McFadden. He attended Haverhill Public Schools and was a graduate of Haverhill high School, class of 1964. A Vietnam Veteran, Mr. McFadden proudly served in the U.S. Army and was Honorably Discharged.Following in his father’s footsteps, Dennis was employed as a Haverhill Firefighter for over fifteen years. He then became involved in Real Estate ventures and sold Insurance for Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company. A man of integrity and quick wit, he was a natural salesman and became a top salesman for the company. His latest venture was sales for a local window company where he also excelled as a salesman.A devoted father, grandfather, son, and brother, his family came first. He was known as generous, kind and funny. He enjoyed traveling, boating at Sebago Lake, and restoring cars.He leaves his mother Mrs. Gwen McFadden of Haverhill, four children twin sons Brandon M. McFadden and his fiancé, Heather Raymond, of Methuen, Justin T. McFadden and his fiancé, Stacy Prosowski, of Malden, Rian D. McFadden and his wife, Lindsay (DiVincenzo), of Groveland, and Erin L. (McFadden) Scanlon and her husband, Joshua, of Methuen, ten cherished grandchildren Gemma, Griffin, Devin, Caden, Brielle, Tyler, Laila, Hailey, Ashley, and Matthew. He also leaves his siblings Thomas P. McFadden, of Haverhill, Eric McFadden and his wife, Karen, of Atkinson, NH, Kathleen and Alphonse “Puffy” Frasca, of Haverhill, and loving nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Haverhill. Funeral services will begin Friday morning at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. James Church, Winter St. Haverhill. Entombment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Salem St. Bradford.
