Haverhill – John L. DeCicco, 88, husband of Theresa I. (Dudley) DeCicco passed away May 23 at Port Healthcare Center in Newburyport surrounded by his loving family.Born in East Boston, he was the son of the late Joseph and Dionigia DeCicco. He attended Boston Public Schools and was a graduate of East Boston High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged.He met and married the love of his life Theresa, a beautiful girl from Chelsea. Together they raised their family in Chelsea before moving to Haverhill over 20 years ago. John worked for the Charlestown Navy Yard and for many years was a sheet metal fabricator for General Electric in Lynn. A devoted husband, father and grandfather family was the center of his life and cherished time spent with his family.In addition to his loving wife he is survived by his son Joseph O. DeCicco Sr. and his wife Suzanne of Malden his two daughters, Denise Kerrigan of Haverhill and Maureen A. Verdura and her husband Andy of Haverhill 9 cherished grandchildren, Danielle, Patrick and Jonathan DeCicco, Christopher Leonard, Eric Stagno, Gina McDonald, Cassandra Cerasuolo, Andrew Verdura and Dana Wiley 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Deborah A. Wiley and his son in law Kenneth E. Wiley his grandson, Joseph O. DeCicco Jr. and two sisters, Anna Zanfani and Rosa Lewin.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on May 25 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Thursday morning at 9:00AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at All Saints Parish, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Winter Street, Haverhill. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
