Haverhill – Donald W. Thompson, 83, husband of the late Rosemarie (Ham) Thompson, passed away January 17, 2017 at Merrimack Valley Hospice in Haverhill surrounded by his loving family.Born in North Andover, he was the son of the late William and Margaret (Spence) Thompson. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School. Donald was employed at the former Hub Transportation Company in Haverhill and the former Haverhill – Lawrence Transportation as a truck driver. He was also employed at the Graf Brothers Trucking in Haverhill. After retirement he worked at the Pare’s Liquor Store in Haverhill. Donald was a Trustee for the Teamsters Union, Local 437. He was a simple man, family was his life. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, taking rides to Salisbury Beach and enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox.Donald is survived by his children, Donald Thompson of Bradford Kathleen Duston of Bradford John Thompson and his wife Donna of Newburyport his brother, Douglas Thompson and his wife Natalie a sister, Margaret Etter of Haverhill five grandchildren, Melanie Fuller, Thomas Duston, Casey Thompson, Erin Bertrand, Kimberly Kimball seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his son Robert Thompson, daughter in law, Patricia Thompson, son in law Albert Duston and his siblings, Marjorie Boudreau, June Kennedy, William Thompson, Kenneth Thompson and Warren Thompson.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, January 19 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will be Friday, January 20 at 12:00 Noon in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cenetery, Salem Street, Bradford.
