Hampstead, NH – Dawn Marie (Schena) Somers, wife of David R. Somers, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family.Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of Joseph and Julie (Parker) Schena of Haverhill. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1988. She attended Northern Essex Community College in the Nursing Program. Dawn was a Registered Nurse and was employed at Parkland Medical Center in Derry NH for 15 years and also worked for Northeast Rehabilitation in Salem NH. She was well loved and respected in her field by both associates and patients alike. She loved living lakeside with her family. She enjoyed walking, especially with the many dogs she cared for. Dawn was civic minded and volunteered for many events for her son’s schools and for the Town of Hampstead. She was very involved with her sons playing football during their youth years and was also an active member of her community at large. Family was everything to Dawn and she most enjoyed spending time with them. She will be sorely missed by all who came to know and love her. In addition to her loving husband David and her parents, she is survived by her two sons, Jacob D. Somers of Hampstead, NH and Luke J. Somers of Lowell her brothers, Joseph Schena and his wife Stefanie of WI Philip Schena of Amesbury Thomas Schena and his wife Naomi of TX Peter Schena and his wife Virginia “Ginny” Schena of Haverhill her mother in law Judith Nault of Amesbury and additionally, her large extended family. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, February 23 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Friday at 10:00AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Parish, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH. Burial will be private and at a later date.
