Georgetown-John F. “Jack” Delaney, Jr., 83, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.Jack was born in Quincy to the late John &amp Alice (Shaw) Delaney. He attended local schools and graduated from Quincy High School, Class of 1951. Jack enlisted to proudly serve our nation in the United States Navy and was assigned to the USS Knapp as a Sonarman Petty Officer 3rd Class during the Korean Conflict. He returned home safely and worked for Northeast Airlines, before joining Hotwatt Inc., from where he ultimately retired as the sales manager after 45 years. Jack and his wife Mariam raised their family in Danvers and later lived in Topsfield. He served as a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club, American Legion, and coached youth baseball and was a friend of Bill W. Jack was an automobile and airplane enthusiast. He was a man of great faith, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mariam (Racine) Delaney their three sons &amp spouses, Tim Delaney &amp Janet of Newport, VT Christopher Delaney &amp Shirley of Largo, FL and Jeffrey Delaney &amp Martha of Salem and niece Janna &amp Harry Noyes of Danvers, MA. He leaves two siblings, Raymond Delaney &amp wife Shirley and Doris Halpin, all of Hingham 4 grandchildren &amp their spouses, Lindsay Barr Weekes &amp Jaunel of Bradford Matthew Bowman &amp Shannon of Coventry, VT Jake Delaney &amp Kristen of North Andover and Erin Delaney of Salem 5 great-grandchildren, Tripp Delaney, Robby, Madison, Sadie, and McKenzie Bowman several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. He is pre-deceased by his great-grandson Quinlan Weekes, two sisters, Frances Grey and Mary Slavin.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 1PM at the First Congregational Church of Rowley, 175 Main St.. Rowley, MA 01969. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the First Congregational Church of Rowley-Mission Committee. Arrangements are by the Kevin B.
