Haverhill – Charles E. Hayden, 60, of Bradford, died Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Kindred Hospital in Peabody, after a lengthy battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.Born in Haverhill, he was the son of Charles H. Hayden, and the late, Marguerite (Fleming) Hayden. Educated in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Sacred Hearts Grammar School and Haverhill High School, class of 1972.Mr. Hayden was employed at the former Western Electric in North Andover, for most of his career, retiring from Lucent Technologies in 2004.Chuck, or Chuckie as he was known by many, loved to be on or near the water he enjoyed boating, and fishing with his brother Tom, or having a day at the beach. He had a great and mischievous sense of humor, love of life, family and friends and an appreciation for all things vintage. Music was a big part of his life, and he was a talented musician blessed with an amazing singing voice.Devoted to his family, he leaves his loving daughter, Lea P. Bakalyar, and her husband, Jonathan, of Atkinson, NH, and cherished grandson, Noah Bakalyar. He also leaves his father, Charles H. Hayden, and his companion Peggy Stevens of Hampton NH, three brothers, Grant Hayden and his wife, Virginia, of Shelton, CT, Mark Hayden and his wife, Margot, and Thomas Hayden and his life partner, Marian Conley, three sisters, Andrea DiGuilio and her husband, Anthony, Robin Hayden, and Gail Hayden, all of Bradford, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and his special friend Mary Faxon.Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass to be celebrated in Sacred Hearts Church, South Main St. Bradford at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 17, 2014.
