Constance M. “Connie” Merrick (Buttrick) 89

Constance M. “Connie” Merrick (Buttrick) 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12th 2026.

Born in Haverhill on November 4th 1936, she was the youngest daughter of the late Carl and Hazel (Spencer) Buttrick. Raised and educated in East Hampstead she graduated high school with her class of 13 in 1955. She met the love of her life, Jenness “Bud” Merrick in 1952. They dated for 3 years before marrying on October 1, 1955. Weeks before his passing in October of 2022, they celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.

Connie and Bud lived a wonderful life together. They traveled far and often, went snowmobiling and boating, and raised two daughters Diann and Kim. They also enjoyed watching their granddaughter Paige grow up, and then spending time with their great granddaughter Colette. She also prided herself on her beautiful gardens, spending many years as the President of the Haverhill Garden Club.  Connie was a dedicated member of the East Parrish Meeting House Society for over 40 years and Treasurer for 25.

Connie was also an artist who loved to paint and draw and created beautiful artwork that was entered in local artesian shows.

Connie is survived by her two daughters Diann Kelly and Kim LeBlanc and their spouses Dan Cotton and Chris LeBlanc. She also leaves behind her granddaughter Paige Martin (Kelly) and her husband Keith Martin, and great granddaughter, Colette Martin. She is pre-deceased by her husband Bud, her parents Carl and Hazel Buttrick, twin brothers Ronald and Robert and sister Carlene.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home on March 19th  from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for remembrance and celebration of the life of Connie.     Connie, the East Parish Meeting House and neighborhood misses you and your beautiful gardens that brightened our neighborhood so much. We thank you for your decades of dedicated service toward the preservation of the historic East Parish Meeting House for future generations. Now, you and your beloved Buddy are reunited in Heaven.
